On 11 June 2026, Go for Gold proudly hosted its Annual Industry Fundraising Dinner at the vibrant Spyced Restaurant in Cape Town. The evening brought together industry leaders, corporate partners, donors, alumni, and friends who share a common vision—to equip talented young South Africans with the education, workplace experience, and opportunities they need to become the skilled professionals our country requires.
The event celebrated the collective impact of Go for Gold’s Education-to-Employment Programme, while raising vital funds to ensure that more young people can successfully progress from school into meaningful careers.
An Evening of Inspiration
Guests enjoyed Spyced’s exceptional cuisine and lively atmosphere, while the evening was expertly hosted by our charismatic Master of Ceremonies, Jason Oostendorp.
One of the most memorable moments of the evening was hearing the inspiring stories of three exceptional Go for Gold students—Ibongwe Njemla, Matthew Saunders, and Masixole Mkatshane. Their personal journeys demonstrated the life-changing impact of Go for Gold’s four-phased programme, from academic support and leadership development to workplace learning, higher education, and ultimately employment.
Their stories served as a powerful reminder that when industry invests in youth, entire communities benefit.
The evening was further energised by an unforgettable interactive drumming experience that had the room buzzing with excitement, followed by an entertaining performance from comedian Jaryd Pillay, who ensured there was plenty of laughter throughout the night.
R658,677 Raised for Youth Development
Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who attended, sponsored, donated, and supported the event, we are delighted to announce that the evening raised an outstanding R658,677.
These funds will directly support Go for Gold’s Education-to-Employment Programme, enabling more Grade 11 and 12 learners to receive Saturday Mathematics and Physical Sciences tuition, Leadership Development and psychosocial support, workplace learning opportunities, bursary support for higher education, and ultimately sustainable employment.
Every contribution represents an investment in South Africa’s future workforce.
