Go for Gold recently celebrated a significant milestone in the journeys of our Higher Education students at our Graduation Celebrstion, held at the beautiful Jack@SKY Hyde Hotel in Cape Town on 28 May 2026.
The event brought together graduates, staff, mentors, partner companies, and supporters to honour the hard work, resilience and determination of students who have successfully completed their tertiary studies and are now ready to embark on the next chapter of their professional careers.
The graduation celebration is one of the most meaningful occasions on the Go for Gold calendar. It represents the culmination of years of commitment from students who have progressed through our Education-to-Employment Programme. Many of these graduates began their journeys as Grade 11 learners in our Education Development Programme, receiving academic support in Mathematics and Physical Sciences, leadership development training, career exposure and mentorship before advancing through workplace learning and tertiary education.
The celebration was filled with pride and appreciation for the support they received along the way from Go for Gold. Their achievements serve as a powerful reminder of what is possible when talented young people are provided with opportunity, guidance and encouragement.
Guests heard stories of perseverance, personal growth and academic success, highlighting the impact that collaborative partnerships between education, industry and communities can have on transforming lives. The alumna Nyameka, also acknowledged the role played by Go for Gold’s partner companies, mentors, donors and educators who helped make their success possible.
As these young professionals transition into employment and join our growing Alumni Network, they become ambassadors for the programme and role models for the next generation of students. Their success demonstrates the effectiveness of Go for Gold’s four-phase Education-to-Employment pathway, which supports young people from school, through workplace learning and tertiary education, into sustainable careers.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our graduates. Your dedication, resilience and achievements have made us immensely proud. We look forward to seeing the positive impact you will make in your professions, workplaces and communities.
Thank you to Jack@SKY Hyde Hotel for hosting this special celebration and to everyone who joined us in recognising the accomplishments of our graduates.
Together, we continue to transform potential into opportunity and education into employment.
