A visit from Germany and Helderberg Sunrise Rotary Clubs
On Saturday, April 20, 2024, Go for Gold had the honour of hosting esteemed visitors from
Germany, including Professor Bernhard Maisch and his son Christoph,
representing Rotary Club Marburg and other supportive Rotary Clubs in Germany
and ICC, along with Gert Rautenberg from Helderberg Sunrise Rotary Club. Their
visit left an indelible mark on our Grade 11 and 12 classes, highlighting the
significance of their support for the Go for Gold programme.
Professor Maisch, accompanied by his son and representatives from various Rotary Clubs in
Germany, graced our classrooms with their presence. Their commitment to
education and dedication to the Go for Gold programme were evident throughout
the visit. Their generous contributions have played a pivotal role in the
success and sustainability of our programme, empowering students to pursue
their academic and professional dreams.
Additionally, Gert Rautenberg’s presence from the Helderberg Sunrise Rotary Club further
underscored the ongoing support and dedication of local Rotary Clubs to our
cause. Since 2015, Helderberg Sunrise Rotary Club has been a steadfast advocate
for our education-to-employment initiative, embodying the spirit of community
and collaboration.
Their visit provided a unique opportunity for our students to interact with individuals who
believe in their potential and are committed to their success. From engaging
discussions to inspiring interactions, the day was filled with moments that
reaffirmed the importance of the Go for Gold programme and the transformative
impact it has on the lives of our students.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Professor Maisch, Christoph, Gert Rautenberg, and all
the representatives from ICC and Rotary Clubs in Germany for their unwavering
support and dedication to the Go for Gold programme. Together, we continue to
pave the way for a brighter future for our students, empowering them to reach
new heights of success and excellence.
